International Management Program (IMP)

An intensive development opportunity for emerging international managers

The International Management Program, IMP, is delivered by the Stockholm School of Economics Executive Education. It is a multicultural meeting point for emerging international managers with an enriching variety of backgrounds and experiences. The program is designed together with the partner companies – Alleima, Atlas Copco, Epiroc, DeLaval International AB, Sandvik, Scania, and SSAB – to meet the current and future needs of international managers in decentralised global companies operating in a rapidly changing world.

The IMP program is designed to fulfill the following major goals for the participants:

  • Reinforce and acquire new skills in using essential tools of modern general management: financial and management accounting, sustainability, diversity, and digital innovation (A/I)
  • Broaden their perspective on global business and modern management. The purpose is to enhance the participant’s knowledge of exploiting business opportunities and making the most of limited resources.
  • Develop their leadership abilities, especially in a multicultural environment: understanding how to bring out the best in people, how to select and lead teams, how to build and maintain networks, and how to encourage and lead continuous change.

Participants

The program is designed for a mixed group of partner companies: Atlas Copco, Alleima, Sandvik, Scania, and SSAB. In a typical program, participants represent 8-12 different nationalities and reside in an even larger number of countries. The two key characteristics of a successful participant are a track record of success and high motivation for continued personal development.
